Camp Helen State Park
A Lake Powell paddle launch at Camp Helen with coastal-dune scenery, wildlife, and access to one of Florida’s largest coastal dune lakes.
What to know before you go
Camp Helen State Park gives kayakers and paddleboarders access to Lake Powell, one of Florida’s largest coastal dune lakes. The public launch is near the North Trail trailhead, with a hard-surface path of roughly 375 feet from the parking area to the water, so a cart can make the carry easier.
The lake is known for birdlife, fishing, and a mix of fresh and saltwater influence when the outfall is open. As of 2026, the park says kayak rentals are not currently offered, so bring your own gear. Check current park hours, fees, and lake conditions before you go.
