Deering Point
A free Biscayne Bay launch with shallow water, mangrove access, wildlife viewing, and a short carry from paved parking.
What to know before you go
Deering Point is a free public access point on Biscayne Bay that works well for kayaks and paddleboards. A circular drive lets you unload closer to the shoreline, while the main paved parking area is roughly a short walk from the water.
The entry is rocky, but the water near shore is generally shallow and gives you access toward mangrove creeks and the waters around Chicken Key. This is also a strong wildlife-viewing area where paddlers may see manatees, dolphins, fish, and coastal birds. Watch tides and wind before heading farther into the bay.
