What to know before you go
Henderson Beach State Park gives paddleboarders and kayakers direct access to the Gulf from one of Destin’s best-known white-sand beaches. On a calm day, the emerald water and open shoreline make this a scenic place for a coastal paddle.
This is an open-Gulf launch, so wind, surf, and current matter much more than they do at a protected bay or lagoon. The park has restrooms, parking, trails, and picnic facilities. As of 2026, day-use reservations are required, so reserve ahead and check the marine forecast before bringing a board or kayak.
