What to know before you go
Jeff Friend Kayak Launch is one of the main non-motorized access points to Little Lagoon at Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge. Canoes and kayaks can launch here, with parking provided near the Jeff Friend Trail area.
The lagoon’s protected water and marsh shoreline make this a good place for wildlife watching and a quieter Gulf Shores paddle. Some carrying is required between parking and the water. Current guidance lists access from dawn to dusk, so plan your trip within refuge hours.
